Muhammad Alvin Fahrezy and Partners Law Firm (MAF) offers legal services for both corporations and individuals. We remain committed to the foundational principles of chivalry and trustworthiness that established this firm. First-time clients often remark on the youthful energy and enthusiasm of our team. MAF & Partners boasts some of the youngest lawyers capable of successfully operating their own law firm while earning the trust of numerous prestigious companies and influential individuals. Although some clients initially find it challenging to place their trust in us, MAF & Partners has consistently demonstrated our expertise and competence across various cases. As a result, an increasing number of clients are recognizing our capabilities in both litigation and corporate law, choosing to place their trust in MAF & Partners.

Engaging a lawyer for a civil claim is not always necessary. Some individuals choose to hire a lawyer regardless of their case's value, as seen with some of our clients. Second, your company's internal policies may require you to seek legal counsel. For instance, certain companies, whether publicly traded or not, may need to obtain a legal opinion from a lawyer when facing or filing a civil claim. This opinion helps assess the nature of the case and its potential impact on the company's financial status, which is often necessary for providing shareholders with informed updates. These considerations can assist you in deciding whether to engage a lawyer.

Will one of our attorneys recommend that you hire a lawyer for your case? Perhaps not. At MAF and Partners Law Firm, we do not accept every case that comes our way. We carefully evaluate each claim to identify its legal foundation. If we believe there is a valid legal basis and that the case warrants the significant time and resources we invest, we will take it on. Our commitment goes beyond mere evaluation; we strive to ensure that our efforts lead to a positive outcome for your case.

Please feel free to reach out to one of our lawyers to discuss the specifics of your situation. This initial legal assessment is complimentary, and we are dedicated to providing you with valuable support throughout your case.

Legal service activities related to non-litigation encompass the following:

  1. Offering legal consultations or advice through the preparation of both written and verbal legal opinions.
  2. Performing legal audits on specific legal issues as required by the client.
  3. Organizing and participating in meetings with clients and/or third parties to effectively address the legal challenges encountered.
  4. Engaging with relevant agencies through visits and correspondence to manage legal matters, including licensing and dispute resolution.

Filing your case with the Court of Justice is just one of the options available for resolving disputes. Contrary to popular belief, as often portrayed in television and newspapers, the court is not the sole avenue for achieving a resolution; in fact, the majority of cases are settled outside of court. We will make every effort in good faith to resolve your case amicably. However, if the opposing party is unwilling to offer a fair compensation for your damages, we will proceed with filing a lawsuit to seek recovery. Even after a lawsuit is filed or court proceedings have commenced, many cases remain open to bilateral settlement discussions. If it becomes necessary to file your case with the Court of Justice, we will provide you with comprehensive information to ensure you are fully informed about the legal process.

Under Law Number 18 of 2003 regarding Advocates, only individuals with a valid license are permitted to provide legal services. This license is issued by the Indonesian Advocates Association (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia, or PERADI), which serves as the national bar association. Prior to the enactment of Law Number 18 of 2003, licenses were granted through decrees from the Minister of Justice or the Appeal Court, and these decrees remain in effect today. Consequently, only those holding the specified license are legally qualified to represent you in and out of the Court of Justice. Furthermore, we adhere to the Advocates' Ethical Code, which serves as the foundation of our practice.

We have established a specialized practice adept at addressing the complete range of regulatory and criminal investigations within the financial sector. Our team comprises attorneys and advocates with significant experience in law enforcement, having previously served as law enforcement lawyers, investigators, and prosecutors before joining us.
We frequently engage with investigations and inquiries initiated by the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (encompassing both regulatory and criminal matters), the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Indonesian National Police Headquarters, the Special Criminal Investigations Office, the Customs Office, and various other specialized law enforcement agencies. We provide representation for our clients throughout all phases of an investigation, including scoping, initial interviews (whether voluntary, mandatory, or conducted under the Criminal Evidence and Police Act), and subsequent proceedings. Our team possesses extensive experience in appearing before regulators, at police stations, and in all pertinent courts and tribunals involved in financial market investigations.

If you need help working out how best to respond to questions from the regulators, we can help with that too. We can’t help with routine compliance activities, compliance monitoring, compliance auditing or the detailed design of new systems and controls. We may, however, be able to introduce you to a compliance consultant who can.
